Visiting the Latter-day Saint church in San Clemente

Yes, you are welcome to visit the Marblehead Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We meet at 310 Avenida Vista Montana in San Clemente, and sacrament meeting is on Sundays at 9:00 AM. Everyone is welcome, there is no cost, and you do not need to be a member or let anyone know you are coming.

What to expect when you arrive

Arrive a few minutes early so you can find parking and a seat. Members near the entrance are glad to say hello and point you to the chapel. You can sit anywhere, and no one will ask you to speak, stand or take part in anything.

The meeting is reverent but not silent. Families bring babies and young children, so you will hear small voices now and then. That is expected, and no one minds. If you would like to step out with a child, you are free to do so at any time.

What the service includes

The main Sunday service is called sacrament meeting. It includes congregational hymns, prayers, a short talk or two from members of the ward, and the sacrament, in which bread and water are passed to remember Jesus Christ. Visitors may take part or sit quietly. Nothing is required of you.

No offering plate is passed. Latter-day Saints give donations privately, and guests are never asked for money. You can read more about the order of the meeting in the what to expect at church page on the Church's website, or see the digital program for the current week.

Before you come

Our visit page has a map and parking information. The ward calendar shows anything different from the usual Sunday schedule. If you have a question about accessibility, children, or what to bring, send a note through the contact page and someone from the ward will reply.

If you live in San Clemente, Talega, Forster Ranch or a nearby community, you are welcome here regardless of which congregation your address belongs to. You can look up your assigned meetinghouse on the Church meetinghouse locator.
